Like many in the modern era, Tim started his racing journey via mini-moto in his native Scotland, gaining the Scottish Championship at the tender age of 12. He then moved on to 125s the following year and dominated the Melville Motor Club F125 and the East Midlands Racing Association F125 championships. Three years in the British GP125 Championship then saw Tim achieve sixth place in the 2007 Academy Cup followed by two successive Academy Cup titles in 2008 and 2009 - a double that no other rider has ever achieved. In those two years, Tim amassed an impressive 9 Championship and 17 Cup podiums, and became one of the most talked about new talents in the BSB paddock.

2010 was Tim's debut year on a 600 four stroke machine as part of the Team Green initiative in Junior Superstock. After a season of learning and some very encouraging results, 2011 proved to be both frustrating and challenging with some very impressive rides. However 2011 proved to be one of those seasons when if something could go wrong, it usually did.

It is our firm belief that 2012 holds much promise and the 19 year old "Twister" will look to continue building on an already impressive career.

MWR Kawasaki have reversed their decision to take a year out of racing in 2012 and will field Tim Hastings in the Metzeler National Superstock 600 championship.
